Critical Championship Push as Carrera Cup Opens Round 3 During Formula 1 Miami GP Weekend

ACI Motorsports arrives at the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix weekend with momentum, championship focus, and a proven history of success at one of the most high-profile events on the Porsche Carrera Cup North America calendar.

Miami Gardens, Fla. (April 30, 2026) — ACI Motorsports arrives at the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix weekend with momentum, championship focus, and a proven history of success at one of the most high-profile events on the Porsche Carrera Cup North America calendar.

As Round 3 of the 2026 season begins, Miami presents a pivotal opportunity for ACI’s multi-car lineup to strengthen championship campaigns across multiple classes on one of motorsport’s biggest stages.

“Miami Formula 1 week is an incredibly important race for us,” said Team Owner Curt Swearingin. “At this point in the season, every session and every result matters from a championship standpoint. Our focus is on maximizing points, executing a clean weekend, and keeping our drivers in strong championship positions.”

ACI Motorsports returns to Miami following a landmark 2025 event where the team earned monumental success, highlighted by Yves Baltas sweeping both Race 1 and Race 2 for ACI’s first overall and Pro class victories at the event. Jimmy Llibre also led a majority of laps during the weekend, with ACI showcasing dominant pace and multiple cars contending at the front, including a memorable 1-2 team running order.

For 2026, ACI’s roster enters Miami with several key championship storylines:

  • Patrick Mulcahy arrives as the current Pro-Am championship leader, holding a strong points advantage while focusing on consistent finishes and avoiding unnecessary risks in mixed-class competition.
  • Janne Stiak looks to rebound after setbacks and penalties in Round 2 at Long Beach, with Miami serving as a crucial opportunity to regain lost ground in the Pro class standings, currently 4th in Pro standings.
  • Alex Pratt continues to build momentum after a breakthrough performance at Long Beach, where he demonstrated significant pace improvements and strong racecraft.
  • John Jodoin returns for Round 3 with new partner Coffee Imperial Moto joining his program for Miami.
  • Marco Cirone continues his Masters class campaign as one of the team’s consistent front-running contenders, currently first in Masters class points.
  • Matt Smith makes his Porsche Carrera Cup North America debut in the No. 74 machine after a successful progression through Porsche Sprint Challenge competition.

“This is an exciting next step for me,” said Matt Smith. “Making the move into Carrera Cup with ACI Motorsports is something I’ve worked hard toward, and to debut during Formula 1 Miami weekend makes it even more special. I’m looking forward to learning, growing, and building on everything we accomplished in Sprint Challenge.”

With championship implications intensifying and the prestige of Formula 1 weekend adding to the atmosphere, ACI Motorsports enters Miami determined to build on past success while positioning every entry for a strong title push heading deeper into the 2026 season.
